Cheryl Fernandez-Versini teases picture of 'mystery man line-up'

Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and Liam Payne have been keeping their fans guessing about their rumoured romance. It's thought the pair has been enjoying a secret three-month relationship, and the One Direction singer appeared to confirm the rumours on Sunday (28 February) as he posted a selfie of the two of them looking rather cosy.

Following her split from husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez Versini, the X Factor judge was rumoured to be dating a mystery man, who was described as either a musician, a sportsman or a businessman.

Reacting to the interest in her love life and the speculation about the identity of the new man in her life, the 32-year-old, posted an image of a line up of suspects, including Liam Payne. Second from left in Cheryl's photo is Adrien Koskas, the general manager of L'Oreal. She captioned the image: "My mystery man line up #whosthemysterman #whoisit #whosworthit."

Shortly after, as if providing an answer to the question, Liam shared a selfie of himself in the backseat of a car with his head rested in Cheryl's arms as he posed for the photo, looking loved-up.

The images follows speculation from fans who assumed the couple had already broken up after Payne deleted an earlier black and white selfie of the new couple from his Instagram account. One fan wrote: "But what if Cheryl and Liam really did split already and that's why he changed his icon. Could be possible and not a rumor."

The Crazy, Stupid Love singer didn't seem concerned by the rumours of a split, as she posted a photo of her distinctive hand jewellery. Simon Cowell is believed to have played matchmaker, setting the pair up after it was clear Cheryl's marriage to Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini was on the rocks.

A friend of the music mogul is reporting as saying: "Simon was Cheryl's confidant when he saw the relationship going to pot. It was his suggestion, and with his encouragement, that she got together with Liam, who's a really sweet boy."

While the 10-year age gap left Directioners fuming and accusing Cheryl of being a 'cradle-snatcher', the pair are unconcerned and reportedly escaped to a remote island for a private break in February to cement their blossoming relationship .

While even friends of the stars were left stunned by the news of their romance, the couple are said to be "madly in love."
