Ciara quitting music for fashion career? I Bet singer signs with IMG Models
She is a Grammy award-winning singer who has sold over 23 million records worldwide, but it looks like Ciara could be steering her career in a new direction. The 30-year-old r'n' b songstress can now add 'model' to her CV after officially signing with renowned agency IMG Models.
The mother-of-one announced the good news via her Instagram page, telling her 11.8m followers: "Excited To Join The @IMGmodels Family. Looking Forward To The Journey Ahead. #IMG"
The move is the biggest hint yet that the I Bet hitmaker is focusing on taking her fashion career to the next level. The statuesque beauty has previously collaborated with high-end brands including Givenchy Coach and Ralph Lauren. She was also Topshop's first U.S. brand ambassador and fronted Roberto Cavalli's 2015 campaign. She also displayed her fashion credentials when she featured on the covers of L'Uomo Vogue, L'Officiel, Shape and Essence.
"I'm super thrilled about partnering with IMG Models," she said a statement. "I have always had a strong love for fashion and I'm grateful to be surrounded by so many great friends that are the best at what they do in this industry. This partnership will give me an opportunity to grow and experiment as an artist. I truly look forward to all the amazing things we have planned ahead."
Ciara is the latest famous name to join the agency which is home to the likes of Gisele Bündchen, Kate Moss, Bella Hadid, Gigi Hadid, Anja Rubik, Lily Donaldson and Georgie May Jagger. The company's sister agency WME already represents the singer for all her entertainment endeavours.
The year is already shaping up to be a pretty hectic year for the star. In March, she got engaged to Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson and she is set to co-host the Billboard Music Awards with Ludacris on 22 May.
