David Beckham was thrilled to meet his sister's newborn on Wednesday, 13 December, and he took to social media to share adorable photos of his niece Peggy with his fans.

One of the snaps shows the former Real Madrid footballer holding on to his niece and smiling at the camera. He is also seen flaunting his tattoos wearing a grey T-shirt, black trousers and green woollen cap.

Another picture shows Victoria Beckham's husband smiling at his niece who is sleeping on his lap. He also shared a video of a talking pink Teddy bear, which in the clip can be heard, saying: "Hi cutie pie...where did you go. Peek-a-boo. I found you."

"Welcome to the world little Peggy ❤️ So proud of my little sis and congrats @krissydonners #Daddy such a beautiful family #proudUncle @joannebeckham," the 43-year-old wrote alongside the images he shared with his 41.3 million fans on Instagram.

The photos have sent fans into a meltdown, with many taking to the comments section to welcome the little one into the world. At the time of writing, the snaps have been liked more than 947,000 times.

"Congratulations! Happy birthday little cutie! God bless you Peggy and Ilysm! I hope you enjoy your first day on the Earth little baby and have fun! Much love to you!!" a fan commented, while another said, "Congrats!!! So cute baby!!!"

Someone else said, "Congratulations! I hope she grows up looking beautiful just like her mommy & daddy!!," while an admirer added, "Miss those newborn days- u never realize how special there are- before u know it they at 20 years old."

A few days ago, Joanne had shared a photo of her little girl in the photo-and-video-sharing application. In the snap, she is seen holding her baby girl close to her chest.

"9.12.17 THE DAY OUR LIFE CHANGED FOREVER ... such an amazing feeling starting our own family, the love I have for our little princess Peggy is one that is so unconditional! I'd never of been able to do it without the love of my life ... @krissydonners you was my strength! Thank you ... ❤️#myfamily," she wrote.
