Samantha Cameron and Michelle Obama cheered on a mini-Olympics event at the American University in Washington while their husbands watched a basketball game before sitting down to more serious business.
But asmany eyes were on them for their dazzling fashion displays as on the teams on the court.
The university event was put on to promote the 2012 London Olympics and Michelle Obama's anti-obesity campaign, Let's Move!
Samantha Cameron wore a fuschia top with a black belt over black cropped pants on her first official trip abroad with her husband.
Michelle Obama wore a bright yellow knitted cardigan by L'Wren Scott and paired the chartreuse with a cream-beaded cashmere top and wide-legged white trousers.
The Camerons are on a three-day visit to the U.S.
