This happens to be the 17th iteration of the event. First held in 1998, it has served as a celebration of the BEST in interactive entertainment. It is organised by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences as part of the yearly D.I.C.E summit.

The Last of Us leading the race

This year, Naughty Dog's The Last of Us, leads the race with an impressive 13 nominations. It looks like the game has managed to garner a lot of love from the developer community. Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag, BioShock Infinite and Tearaway are other games that received multiple nominations.
