Dying Light: Techland tease vehicle DLC announcement for Gamescom
Vehicles are coming to Techland and Warner Bros' open world zombie action game Dying Light, and an announcement is coming in early August to coincide with the Gamescom tradeshow in Germany. The reveal comes at the end of a video teasing new content coming to the game.
Included in the "180 days of content" teased in the video below, will be two new zombie-infested Hardcore Quarantine Zones, new outfits and weapons, the ability to create custom maps, a hard mode removing instant healing and inventory pause and new parkour-based challenges.
Dying Light was a surprise hit following its release in late January, selling approximately 4.5 million copies as of late May. An impressive number for a new IP.
The game is the spiritual successor to Techland's Dead Island which released in 2011. Techland parted ways with publisher Deep Silver to join Warner Bros' gaming division, leaving their license behind.
Yager Development took over the series and announced Dying Light 2 in summer 2014. In mid-July Deep Silver announced Yager were no longer developing the sequel. In tandem with a near year-long delay back in Spring, the news leaves the project in huge doubt.
Gamescom takes place between 5-9 August 2015 in Cologne, Germany.
