Fifa 16: EA Sports reveals top-rated players ahead of game's 25 September release

Fifa 16 loyalists can now check the list of top-rated players in the eagerly awaited EA Sports game, which will be released on 25 September in the UK. The ratings are based on recent performances of the players in both league and cup matches, and are reflected in Fifa 16 and Fifa 16 Ultimate Team.

Favourites such as Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo and Luis Suarez take the first three spots, while new entrants such as Eden Hazard and Arjen Robben being included in the top-10. EA Sports has compiled and released the complete list of the 50 top-rated players for Fifa 16, which will be released on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4, PS3, Android and iOS.

EA Sports had previously announced that it would include women's football for the first time in Fifa 16. EA's decision seemed to have come in the run-up to the women's World Cup held in Canada in June-July that received immense success. The US women's team won the 2015 tournament, while Japan settled for the second spot and England beat Germany to finish third.

In July, EA had announced that the game's box art would feature women football stars alongside Lionel Messi. Reports suggested that World Cup winner Alex Morgan would be seen on the US cover, while Canadian captain Christine Sinclair would feature on the box art to be released in Canada.
