Galaxy Note 2 N7100 Gets Official (Vodafone) Jelly Bean Update with XXALIJ ROM [Install and Root]
Much to the delight of Galaxy Note 2 N7100 users, Samsung has started rolling out the XXALIJ based Official (Vodafone) Jelly Bean update through Samsung KIES across Europe and other countries. Users who missed the Android 4.1.1 update for their Note 2 devices can now manually download and install the XXALIJ firmware using this guide.
The XXALIJ based Android 4.1.1 firmware can be installed using ODIN. You need not root the device or install ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery on it to support the firmware installation, which is one hitch less to bother about. If you are on a rooted device, you will lose root access to the device after the firmware installation. So, you have to root the device again to regain full system access and be able to install third-party root-based apps (steps provided later in the guide).
Key Points to Note
- The XXALIJ based Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean firmware supports the following countries: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Spain and United Kingdom.
