Gatwick re opens after fire on board Virgin Atlantic Plane
Flights in and out of Gatwick Airport are now operating again, after a Virgin Atlantic flight was forced to make an emergency landing after a small fire was reported on board.
The Airbus A330-300 was travelling en route to Orlando with 299 passengers and 13 crew on board, when it was forced to return to Gatwick.
Fire fighters were called to the scene but it was quickly under control.
Some people reportedly suffered smoke inhalation in the incident, but there were no serious injuries.
A Gatwick spokeswoman said "the plane had made a safe emergency landing, the emergency services are on the scene and the aircraft is safe and passengers are being disembarked.
