Goat Simulator: The Dark Truth Behind That Ridiculous, Fun Game We Love
For all of you who thought that Goat Simulator was a ridiculous, silly, story-less, aimless game with people just doing "stupid things", you were almost right. However, the game does have a story and it takes place in the most unexpected of places: Purgatory.
The game's developer, Armin Ibrisagic, recently took to Steam to reveal the game's surprising setting as a response to one fan's theory.
"The goat is real, it is everything else that is a hallucination in the goats mind", said one fan. In response to this, Ibrisagic punched out the actual theory.
"No, your goat is in Purgatory. Let me explain. If you notice, you'll see that one of the tunnels has a sign saying "Himlen" and the other has a sign saying "Helvete". If you pull that through google translate you'll see that "Himlen" means Heaven, and "Helvete" means hell. That is why there is a Devil Goat and an Angel Goat in the game," Armin explained.
"The pentagram is closer to the sign saying "Helvete", even the demonstration (symbolising the current chaos in the Ukraine) is on that end of the map. Goathenge is closer to Hell, symbolising the old ways of humankind, while the Low Gravity Testing Facility and the Beacon is closer to "Himlen", symbolising research, progress, and hope.
"You might also notice that, no matter what you do, you can never interact with humans. If you lick them or even touch them a little bit, they will instantly go limp. If there are any humans nearby, they will run away from you. When it comes to other humans, you are always the onlooker, always staring from a distance, never part of the group. Always alone.
"This is just the tip of the existential iceberg, those who seek shall find more. I'll let you analyse the new map yourself that's coming with patch 1.1," he concluded.
Let us know what you think about the theory in the comments below.
