Google Jamboard featuring 4K screen goes on sale for $4,999
The device will be available in the UK and Canada this summer.
Google on Tuesday (23 May) announced that its Jamboard, a cloud-based collaborative whiteboard is now available for purchase.
As of now, it is available in the US. It would be released in the UK and Canada this summer, followed by other countries.
Jamboard with a 55in 4K screen costs $4,999 (£3,853) that includes two styluses, an eraser and a wall mount. Ordering the device before 30 September will fetch you a discount of $300 on the annual management and support fee and discount on the optional rolling stand. You can choose to buy the device in three colour options: cobalt blue, carmine red and graphite grey.
The rolling stand costs $1,199, but if you purchase it after September you will need to pay $1,349.
Besides, a Jamboard app is available for download on Android and iOS for G Suite customers sometime this week. The app, which is available for free, can be downloaded for phones and tablets from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
Users would be able to experience features on a tablet similar to what they would get on Jamboard. But on a smartphone, the Jamboard functions as a companion for the Jamboard device.
Google says the device has been tested with enterprises like Dow Jones, Whirlpool and Pinterest.
"Jamboard breaks down barriers to interactive, visual collaboration across teams everywhere," said Shaown Nandi, chief information officer at Dow Jones.
"It's the perfect anchor for a meeting and encourages impromptu, productive sessions. We can easily add any content to the Jamboard to capture great ideas from everyone. We immediately saw the benefits," added Nandi.
