Heads of Somalia's Olympic and Football Federation Killed in Suicide Bomb Blast
At least seven people have been killed including the Presidents of Somalia's Olympic committee Yabarow Wiish and Football Federation boss Said Mohamed Nur, in an explosion in the Somali capital, Mogadishu. After a female suicide bomber blew herself up inside a theatre.
The attacker detonated her suicide belt as the country's Prime Minister Abdiweli Mohammed Ali was on the podium preparing to address the audience of around 200 people.
One eye witness Ali Muse explained what happened.
"I was very frightened when I heard the explosion. There was a huge amount of black smoke behind me. I ran as fast as I could but later realised I was not hurt."
Dozens more people are believed to be injured in the blast, many seriously.
Al Shabaab rebels in Somalia have claimed responsibility for the explosion.
