Hitman episode two: Release date set for Sapienza mission on PS4, Xbox One and PC
Square Enix has announced that the second instalment of its new episodic Hitman game will be released on 26 April for PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Set in the fictional Italian town of Sapienza, the action focuses on a mansion hiding a deadly secret.
The news was announced with a not-exactly-riveting trailer (embedded below) revealing little more than the release date and the well-established coastal setting. It is the first of five announced missions to be released over the course of 2016, following the first episode's release in March.
Hitman got off to a great start last month with a first episode that left us very hopeful for everything else developers IO Interactive have planned for the year. You can read our review of that first episode here.
We played a near-finished version of the Sapienza mission, and while what we can talk about is quite limited (until 22 April when the embargo drops completely) we can tell you IO has created a gorgeous and varied environment that could well top episode one's Paris location. Here's what we can tell you to expect from episodes two and three.
Shortly prior to the initial release, Square announced that a full disc version including all episodes currently being released digitally, will be released in January 2017.
