HTC One Mini Launch Set for Q3
The HTC One Mini with a 4.3in screen has been rumoured to use a dual-core processor
The mini version of HTC's flagship smartphone, the HTC One Mini, code named as M4 will be reportedly launched in the third quarter of this year.
According to the latest disclosure by DigiTimes, HTC is said to be planning to launch the One Mini featuring a 4.3in screen in Q3; which is around the same time frame when Samsung will release the compact version of its flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S4 Mini featuring a display of similar size.
Speculation also indicates that Apple is likely to launch an inexpensive iPhone featuring 3.5in display in the same quarter. If the aforementioned rumour turns true, then it would be really interesting to see the three mini rival handsets competing against each other in the global smartphone market.
Besides, Lenovo and Huawei are also rumoured to introduce their mini handset versions with screen ranging from 4.3in to 4.5in in the second half of this year.
As for the technical features, the HTC One Mini was previously rumoured to run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean out of box. It is expected to use a dual-core processor.
The HTC One Mini is likely to feature UltraPixel camera technology. The UltraPixel camera sensor, incorporating advanced imaging technology, gathers 300 per cent more light compared to the regular smartphone camera sensors. This technology allows user to quickly capture colourful photos even in low-light conditions.
The One Mini is expected to have 2GB of RAM and would be available in a 16GB storage variant. The handset would have a 1700mAh non-removable battery. It is said to ship with LTE configuration.
