Overview
India come into this game after their nine wicket victory over Australia in a game which saw over 700 runs being scored in a day's play by both sides. The visitors made a total of 359 for the loss of five wickets after the end of their innings. George Bailey and his men remained confident as a huge total on board had put them in a comfortable position.
Australian skipper was the top scorer for his side as he remained unbeaten at 92. He was well supported by openers Aaron Finch (50) and Philip Hughes (83), followed by Shane Watson (59) and hard hitting batsman Glen Maxwell (53). Bhuvaneshwar Kumar was the only bowler to maintain an economy rate below six after conceding 54 runs from his 10 overs.
Meanwhile, India started their innings with Shikhar Dhawan started to fire with the bat while his opening partner Rohit Sharma also contributed in the process to bring down the required run rate. The left-handed batsman was in fine form before giving away a simple catch to Brad Haddin behind the stumps of James Faulkner's delivery.
Dhawan was five runs short of reaching yet another century in ODI's. His dismissal saw Virat Kohli walk into the crease and the right-handed batsman wasted no time in settling down as he, along with Sharma remained unbeaten till the end to make sure India cruised to victory.
India won by nine wickets with 39 balls to spare. Sharma registered his first ton in ODI's after three years and his knock of 141 saw him being awarded with the Man of the Match. Kohli reached his century in 52 deliveries. With their victory in Jaipur, India levelled the seven match series after losing the first ODI.
