Overview
India will look to bounce back following their massive 124-run loss to West Indies in the first ODI of the five match series.
The Indian batsmen completely failed to come to the party and succumbed easily against the West Indian bowling attack despite Sunil Narine's absence.
All the Indian bowlers, apart from Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, were on the expensive side, but skipper Mahindra Singh Dhoni has praised his bowlers for their efforts during the death overs. However, 321 was a target too big for the Indians and the captain will be hoping for a better performance in the second game.
India will be without Mohit Sharma, who has been ruled out for the rest of the tournament and Ishant Sharma has been called in as his replacement.
Meanwhile, the West Indies team will be proud of their performance despite controversy surrounding the team, as the players are fighting against the board due to wage cuts.
But the players put that behind them and put in a complete performance led by Marlon Samuels, who played a fine knock to remain unbeaten on 126. Dinesh Ramdin ably supported his colleague with a well played 61 and captain Dwayne Bravo will hope the duo can continue their form in the second game.
The bowling department was also efficient with everyone chipping in to play their part in the absence of Sunil Narine. The returning Ravi Rampaul picked up two wickets, with Bravo also picking up a couple. Marlon Samuels confirmed the Man of the Match trophy was his by snaring a couple of scalps.
