iOS 7 Beta 3: UI Changes, Feature Enhancements and Bug-Fixes Revealed [VIDEO]
Apple has rolled out its third iteration of iOS 7 (Beta 3) for developers, as part of its iOS developer program. The latest beta update brings several bug-fixes and feature enhancements over its previous iteration, the iOS 7 Beta 2.
The iOS 7 Beta 3 firmware is now available for download via Over-The-Air (OTA) update as well as through the Apple Developers Centre. Non-developers can also download and install the new Beta update (without UDID or registered developer account) by following our step-by-step guide posted here.
Here is the complete list of new feature enhancements and bug-fixes ported into the latest iOS 7 beta firmware, courtesy of iPhone Hacks:
- Adds development versions of new male and female Siri voices for US English and French, besides a male voice for German
- The Calendar app now shows the scheduled days of events in monthly view with dots
- Notification Centre and Stock apps reveal thicker fonts than before
- Lock screen status bar icons relatively larger than the Home screen ones
- Lock screen supports toggle between music controls and Clock via Home button
- App installation now triggers an animation at the bottom row, just above the dock
- Pinch to zoom in landscape mode enabled in Music app
- Setting the side switch to Orientation lock will change the button in Control Centre to a mute button
- Folders appear more transparent than before
- Enhanced clock app in Control Centre
- iPhone speaker is now accessible under current status via AirPlay button in Control Centre
- New Reading list icon appears in search bar in Safari
- System font is now set to Helvetica Neue Regular instead of the Helvetica Neue Ultra Light
- Set Favourites in Safari, can be accessed via Bookmarks icon (also available in Beta 2)
- Reduce motion of user interface such as parallax effect of icons and alerts with new settings under Accessibility options
- New improved icons in Music app
- Dictionary feature is confirmed to be fully functional in iOS 7 Beta 3
- Subject line is revealed when any Notification arrives on Lock screen
- Contact option in Messages app now displays icons for call, FaceTime and Info. New call button options include Voice call and FaceTime call
- Enhanced Siri with more realistic voice
- .com button is replaced with a simple dot (.) in Safari. Holding down the button enables access to .com and other domain extensions.
- 2x mode is no longer displayed in iOS 7, while running an iPhone app on the iPad
