iOS 7.0.1 Brings Bug-Fix Update for iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c [Download and Install Manually]

Apple has just rolled out a bug-fix update for iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c via iOS 7.0.1 release. Earlier, select iOS devices (iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch) received the latest iOS upgrade, the iOS 7, via Over-The-Air (OTA) as well as through manual download links from Apple.

Given the early release of iOS 7, the new iPhones due for release will ship with latest iOS software out of the box. According to a Redmond Pie reader who got early access to an iPhone 5s unit, once the device is activated, the iOS 7.0.1 bug-fix update will be automatically available for download via OTA as incremental update.

The new update reportedly addresses a couple of critical bugs: one with Touch ID sensor and the other with iTunes App Store purchase system.

iOS 7 is definitely one of Apple's biggest software upgrades, as it introduces a completely revamped interface with flat icon design and several new features such as Control Centre, AirDrop for iOS, smarter multitasking, enhanced Notification Centre, improved Siri and more.

How to Update iOS 7.0.1 Manually on iPhone 5s and iPhone 5c via iTunes

• Download the correct iOS firmware for your device.
• Connect the device to computer via USB cable and wait until iTunes recognises the device.
• Click the device button to the left of iTunes Store button on the top right corner.
• Hold down the Shift key (Windows) or option key (Mac) and click Check for Update button under Summary pane.
• Browse and select the ipsw file you downloaded, and let the firmware installation begin.
• Do not disconnect your device until the update completes installing.

Your iOS device is now running iOS 7.0.1 update successfully.
