Jennifer Lopez Named 2012 Oscar Presenter

Actress and singer Jennifer Lopez has landed a new gig - as the latest presenter at the 84th Academy Awards.

The 42-year-old star, who was named as one of People magazine's 50 Most Beautiful People, will now join the cast of the film Bridesmaids, who will also present awards at the ceremony.

Oscar producers Brian Grazer and Don Mischer confirmed that the American Idol judge will be presenting at the ceremony.

Lopez successfully juggles a career in the movies and music, while also finding time to judge on the hit talent show American idol.

She has appeared in films including Out of Sight, Selena, Maid in Manhattan, The Back-Up Plan and Monster-in-Law. Her next film due for release is What to Expect When You're Expecting.

The 84th Academy Awards, to be hosted by comic actor Billy Crystal, will take place at the Kodak Theatre in Los Angeles on 26 February.
