Jourdan Dunn Axed From Dior Show Because of Chest Size
Supermodel Jourdan Dunn was dropped from Christian Dior's haute couture fashion show in Paris because of the size of her breasts. According to Dunn's profile page on Storm Models' website, the mother-of-one is a 32A.
The 22-year-old Victoria's Secret Angel, who has walked her first runways for Marc Jacobs and Ralph Lauren, took to Twitter to reveal that she was dropped from the show, because she had bigger bra size than most models. She also pointed out at the racist behaviour practised in the fashion industry.
"Ahahahahahaha I was cancelled from Dior because of my boobs! I❤ fashion #Couture," she tweeted, later adding, "I'm normally told I'm cancelled because I'm 'coloured' so being cancelled because of my boobs is minor."
In 2008, Dunn was the first black model to walk in a Prada show since Naomi Campbell.
She has always been vocal about the extreme racism in the glamour world. During an interview with The Edit in March, Dunn said she was turned away from model castings because the client "didn't want any more black girls."
"There was even one instance when a makeup artist announced on a shoot that she didn't want to make-up Dunn's face because she herself was white and Dunn was black," the magazine noted.
Prada's Model Malaika Firth Reveals Dunn is Her Inspiration
Italian fashion label Prada cast Kenyan model Malaika Firth for the brand's Fall/Winter 2013 advertisement for the first time since 1994. Firth revealed that she takes inspiration from Dunn.
"[She] has inspired me the most, just because of how down to earth she is as a person. I love her drive and passion for modelling as well," she told to the Telegraph.
