Judge Orders Man To Carry Idiot Sign As His Sentence
An Ohio man is ordered to hold an apology sign describing himself as an idiot after threatening the Cleveland police during 911 calls.
Richard Dameron, 58, started his sentence on Monday (September 3) and has to hold the sign outside the Cleveland police station for three hours each day for the rest of the week.
He said he was intoxicated when he made the calls.
"I'd been under the influence of alcohol. I was very deeply into it and we just got to rambling off and started acting like fools, there was a couple of us. I apologize for everything I've done and I do feel bad about it cause the man's never done nothing to me," said Dameron.
Last year the same judge ordered a woman, Shena Hardin, to carry an idiot sign for two hours for two days after she drove on the sidewalk to avoid having to stop for a school bus stop sign.
