Kaley Cuoco Pixie Haircut: The Big Bang Theory Star Receives Backlash From Fans

American actress Kaley Cuoco received criticism from fans for her new haircut.

The Big Bang Theory fans could not accept the 28-year-old's transformation - from long blond hair to bold pixie cut.

The show's makers revealed that they took the huge step as part of her character, Penny's career change - from a struggling actress to a pharmaceutical sales representative.

Cuoco's fans took to Twitter to express their disbelief.

However, during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Cuoco said she is pleased with her new look.

"I have wanted to do this for years. I knew I had to wait– obviously, my character's all about the long blonde hair, it's very specific – but when we wrapped this season, I literally went the next morning," she said.

She admitted that she took permission from her husband Ryan Sweeting before getting the hair cut.

"I actually asked him before I did it. Because a lot of guys aren't sure about the short hair, and he was totally cool. He said, 'Go ahead and do it.' Not 'go ahead,' but 'do whatever you want.' He loves it. His hair is longer than mine now, which is so, so ridiculous," she added.
