Khabib Nurmagomedov takes another swipe at Conor McGregor, says he will 'finish his hype'
The 28-year-old Russian is currently unbeaten in the UFC with an 8-0 win loss record.
Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov has taken another swipe at current featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor revealing that he wants to slap him around and finish his hype.
The Russian, who returned to the Octagon after a two-year layoff due to injuries, was back to his devastating best at the recently concluded UFC 205 event at the Madison Square Garden Arena in New York beating American Michael Johnson via a kimura submission in the third round.
Khabib, who reportedly told Johnson to give up during their bout, claims he is desperate to do the same to McGregor and would enjoy slapping him around.
"I want to take him down, speak with him, slap him, make him nervous, like, 'Hey, get up! Lets go! Where is your boxing? Play with him and make him give up. This is what I want. But I don't want to finish him 1st round, 2nd round, 3rd round, I want to fight with him for 25 minutes like five rounds and I want to make him look very bad. And finish his hype" Khabib said, as quoted by Bloody Elbow.
The 28-year-old Russian, who is currently unbeaten in the UFC with a 8-0 win loss record, is keen on getting a title shot and has repeatedly confirmed that he has eyes for a bout with the Irishman. The Russian also came out recently and sent out a message to president Dana White confirming that he would leave the promotional company if he doesn't get a title shot against McGregor.
Notorious for his part has not been impressed by the Russian's challenge, claiming that Khabib is too inconsistent and does not fight enough.
"He's (Khabib) fought once in eight years. He ain't fighting frequent enough for my liking. For me to commit to something like that, I need to know people who are going to show up and he's a consistent pullout merchant. He had a good performance-fair play to him. We'll see where it goes."
