Ajax midfielder and Liverpool target Christian Eriksen has revealed the Dutch club has placed a £17m price tag on him.

The Denmark international remains one of the most sought after young talents in world football. Liverpool have been heavily linked with a summer move for the 21-year-old, with Ajax confirming the Reds' interest in the playmaker. Meanwhile, Tottenham Hotspur are also understood to be keen on him.

"I read that my asking price was €20m (£17m). Yes [it is high] but I will leave that for the clubs [to decide]," Eriksen told Dutch newspaper Het Parool.

Ajax's director of football Marc Overmars recently stated Liverpool have been showing a strong interest in Eriksen and Brendan Rodgers' scouts have been regular visitors at the Amsterdam ArenA throughout the season, to watch the Dane in action.

"We have the list of scouts of foreign clubs who have been here recently and Liverpool have been a regular visitor. We want him to stay here for at least two more years, but the day he leaves, he will be ready to play for the very best. He is a player that even the biggest clubs in the world could do with having in their squad," Overmars said.

Eriksen has 11 goals and 17 assists to his name from 40 appearances in all competitions for Frank de Boer's side this season, helping the club remain top of the Eredivisie table.

Henderson: Liverpool Can Win Premier League Soon

Meanwhile, Jordan Henderson is confident the current generation of Liverpool players will be able to taste success in the Premier League.

"I think we've definitely improved over the last year and keep getting better. If we keep working hard, keep improving as players and as a team, then I definitely think we can be successful and win many trophies," the midfielder pointed out.

"There are a lot of things I would like to achieve; to become very successful at Liverpool and a successful team. And obviously to play for England and be successful there as well. It's just to be successful for Liverpool and England, and win as many trophies as you can," the 22-year-old added.
