A man has died in a crash involving three lorries on the M1.

The M1 closed for several hours between junctions 13 and 14 near Milton Keynes, but has now reopened. Long queues had built up, said Bedfordshire police.

Emergency services are at the scene and diversions have been set up while the motorway is part-closed.

Disruptions on the motorway are expected to continue.

A Bedfordshire police spokeswoman said: "The road is closed in both directions and likely to be closed for the next few hours.

"Motorists are advised to avoid the area and diversions are currently in place. A full collision investigation is under way."
