Manchester City will take on Arsenal for the 2014 Community Shield match at Wembley Stadium on Sunday.

Where to Watch Live

Kick-off is set for 3pm BST. Live coverage of the match will be available on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport 1 HD.

Overview

The Community Shield is a charity match played before the start of the new Premier League season. The two teams facing in the match will be the English champions and their opponent will be the FA Cup winners.

After winning the Premier League title on the final day of the last season, City earned a place in Sunday's clash. Meanwhile, after the Gunners' victory over Hull City in the FA Cup final, Arsenal sealed a place to face the Citizens in the Community Shield clash.

Earlier this summer, Bacary Sagna left the Emirates club and completed a switch to the Etihad on a free transfer. The French international could face his former club for the Sunday's fixture at Wembley.

Arsenal have won the Community Shield on 12 occasions, out of which it was shared once. Meanwhile, their weekend's opponent City have won only four times, with their latest one came in 2012.

City's latest loan signing and former Chelsea star Frank Lampard is unlikely to make an appearance during the tie against Arsenal. Meanwhile, none of the World Cup winning players from Germany and Argentina will be in action on Sunday.

What Managers Say

Manuel Pellegrini: "The only thing I can say is that we have important restrictions about the amount of money we can spend, and Frank Lampard was a free player – we didn't spend any money in bringing him from New York City to Manchester City."

Arsene Wenger: "We are less vulnerable now, that is for sure. In the last two years we bought Ozil and Sanchez - five years ago we would have lost Ozil and Sanchez. For years we have lost top players without the ability to replace them because of financial management. We have more money available to buy today than we had five years ago. We can compete better."
