Manchester United Anthony Martial studying Sevilla option 'very closely' says agent
Martial has made seven starts in the Premier League under Jose Mourinho this season.
Anthony Martial's agent has confirmed that the Manchester United forward is attracting interest from Sevilla and revealed he and the player are considering the option of joining the Spanish club in January.
The 21-year-old made a switch to Old Traffdord from AS Monaco in the summer of 2015. In his debut season, the France international was the Red Devils' leading goalscorer in all competitions with 17 goals.
However, Martial has seen his situation change after Jose Mourinho replaced Louis van Gaal at United. Under the Portuguese tactician, Martial has seen his playing time limited and has only started in seven Premier League fixtures this season.
Lack of playing time and failure to replicate last season's form have seen him being linked with a loan move to Sevilla. According to RMC Sport, the La Liga club made contact with Martial's agent Philippe Lamboley over the possibility of a temporary transfer in the mid-season transfer window.
The United forward's representative hailed Sevilla's coach Jorge Sampaoli and refused to put the recent speculation surrounding his client's future to bed.
"We're studying the Sevilla option very closely. Sevilla is a very good club, in a good position in La Liga. They're in the Champions League and have a great coach. That's what I can say," Lamboley told ABC de Sevilla.
Mourinho advised Martial to follow in Henrikh Mkhitaryan's footsteps in order to revive his Old Trafford career. The former Real Madrid and Chelsea manager also urged the forward to improve his game, while stating that he is still young.
Meanwhile, the Telegraph claims the 20-time English champions have no intention of allowing Martial to leave United on loan in January. The former Monaco man holds a key role in Mourinho's plan at Old Trafford and the Red Devils will not consider any offers for their player.
