Manchester United's Ryan Giggs splits from wife after she caught him flirting with waitresses
The former Manchester united winger Ryan Giggs has split from his wife Stacey. Giggs was accused of apparently flirting with a waitress in his Manchester restaurant and is now claiming that he'll be getting a divorce.
The former winger has a history of having affairs so it's no shock that his wife has had enough. The couple were married in September 2007, four years after they had their first child. However, three years after their second child was born, Giggs began a six-month affair with Welsh model Imogen Thomas. In May 2011 it was revealed that Giggs had also been having an eight-year-long affair with Natasha Lever, who was married to his younger brother Rhodri.
In 2011, Ryan Giggs spent an estimated £150,000 on legal fees to prevent his cheating ways from becoming public knowledge. He sought a super injunction which prevented the media from naming him as the footballer at the centre of a love-triangle. However, within hours, thousands of Twitter users tweeted Giggs' name and eventually his name was read out in Parliament by the then Liberal Democrat MP John Hemming.
According to the Sun, Giggs told friends that his marriage was over after Stacey heard about her husband's flirting with a waitress at the Manchester restaurant, called George's. The couple attempted to save their marriage after news of Giggs' two affairs was revealed but it looks like after years of trying, it just hasn't stopped his cheating ways.
According to the Daily Mail, a source said: "Both Ryan and Stacey promised to make a fresh start and that's what they did. They became great friends again and were getting on really well.
"They wanted it to work for each other and for their son and daughter who are the most important things in their lives."
The source claimed the marriage has been in trouble for some time. They added: "Stacey obviously has trust issues after what happened with the affairs and that caused problems. And Ryan has now said to people he thinks the marriage is all over and that there I no saving it. He has put a lot of effort into saving the marriage but now seems to have given up."
