Mel B shares an emotional Instagram post after finalising divorce with ex Stephen Belafonte
The singer said she was 'close to death' in a heartbreaking post.
After months of hostile court battles, Mel B has finally been granted a divorce from Stephen Belafonte.
The Spice Girls star took to Instagram today (18 December) to share an emotional message with her fans.
She posted a picture with the quote: "After my father's death nothing could touch me anymore."
The snap was accompanied by a long caption, which read: "For example, I've felt all morning I have the devil on my shoulder whispering in my ear "your not strong enough to handle the storm" so after I finished my morning routine, cooking my kids breakfast and feeding my two frenchies and my 2 fainting goats thought hold on a minute stop.
"Then I started yelling back to this diablo " I AM the frigging storm " boom."
Mel B then went on to speak about how difficult situations in her life has made her "fearless".
She wrote: "I've have been close to death literally and paralysed with fear which in due course over time has made me fearless extremely fearless.
"Some say "oh that Mel B is Spontaneous and CRAZY" plzzzzz, to that I say nooooooo, it's called living in your truth and following your inner voice and trusting and believing that you are guided even when logic would say otherwise."
She concluded: "So be careful who you invite into your soul, surround yourself with people that are only going to take you higher whether that be spiritually or physically."
Mel B was married to Belafonte for 10 years, but announced she was separating from him in March this year. She accused the film producer as being physically abusive.
They were granted divorce by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge on Friday (15 December) putting an end to a bitter divorce saga.
The 42-year-old singer will split the proceeds from the sale of the businesses she started with her ex husband during their marriage. She will also pay his legal fees which amounts to £150,000.
The two share a six-year-old daughter, Madison and Belafonte will be getting custody of the child on alternate weekends and on Wednesdays.
The DailyMail reports that Belafonte will pocket £7m from the marriage once their house is sold and other business interests have been divided.
According to news reports, Mel B is on a mission to reunite her former Spice Girls bandmates in a bid to recover the large fortune she lost during the divorce.
A source told the Mirror: "Mel is now on a revenge mission to rebuild her life and fortune without Stephen weighing her down.
"Top of the agenda is her desire to reform the Spice Girls, with or without Victoria Beckham, to get pieces in place to celebrate the group's 25th anniversary in 2019.
"She knows that they can do something together and is hoping for new music, gigs and some kind of movie documentary about their success."
