Djokovic enters this competition directly in the second round being one of the top seeds in the tournament and is eying his fourth title in Miami. He won the title first in 2007 followed by back-to-back victories in 2011 and 2012.

The world number two overcame 17-time Grand Slam winner Roger Federer in the 2014 BNP Paribas Open final last Sunday. The Serbian managed to oust the world number five 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3) to clinch the title in Indian Wells for the third time in his career.
