Muhammad Ali: Boxing legend shares Instagram selfie after recovering from health scare
It looks like Muhammad Ali has already bounced back from his recent stints in hospital. The boxing legend posted a new selfie to his Instagram account to celebrate his daughter Laila Ali becoming NBC's first female boxing analyst.
The undefeated women's boxing champion made her debut on Premier Boxing Champions as Keith Thurman took on Robert Guerrero the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
"So proud of @thereallailaali, my baby girl. First female boxing analyst making her debut tonight on NBC's Premier Boxing Champions," he captioned the heart-warming close up of him in a red polo top.
Fans were pleased Ali, who has been battling Parkinson's Disease since the mid-1980s, appeared to be in good health and high spirits. The picture has already racked up almost 22k likes.
The 73-year-old star was first admitted to hospital on 20 December 2014. Although it was initially reported that he was suffering from a mild case of pneumonia, doctors later revealed it was a severe urinary tract infection and he was discharged after 18 days of care. Ali was readmitted on 15 January after his condition triggered "further issues".
The last time he appeared in public was in September 2014 at a ceremony in his hometown of Louisville for the Muhammad Ali Humanitarian Awards.
