Overview
World No 1 Djokovic returns to the courts of SW19, aiming to defend his title for a second straight year. The Serb who has won the last four Grand Slams is on a record 28-match winning streak and the unbeaten run will be stretched further considering he is one of the favourites to win the competition.
The 29-year-old has perfected the art of coasting through the early rounds of tournaments in third gear and tends to save his best for the knockout rounds. He will look to use this match as a way to get used to the grass conditions at Wimbledon.
Ward is ranked 177 in the world and is making his seventh appearance at Wimbledon. The British star has not had a very successful year so far and is unlikely to trouble Djokovic come Monday.
