Overview

World number one Novak Djokovic comes into the finals of yet another ATP Tour event in brilliant form, in fact he is yet to drop a set so far. The Serb beat Gael Monfils 6-3, 6-2 in the semi-final and while the scoreline looked like it was an easy win, there were some worrying signs during the early stages.

Djokovic struggled with his serve, as he does early on in matches, only to change gear and dominate the game as it progressed. With a record 30th Masters 1000 title in sight, the 29-year-old will know that he has hit form at the right time, which makes him the definite favourite come Sunday.

Kei Nishikori

His opponent, Kei Nishikori comes into this clash after beating Stan Wawrinka 7-6, 6-1 in the semi-final. The Japan international, trailed Wawrinka 5-2 only to storm to the finish line, winning 13 of the last 15 games.

Injuries have troubled Nishikori during the season and have hampered his progress, but considering that they would be playing on grass – which is his least favourite surface – he might further struggle against Djokovic.

Despite having the game to beat the current world number one, it is unlikely that Nishikori will cause an upset in the final on 31 July.
