Paul Walker Autopsy: Crash Impact and Burns Killed Actor and Porsche was at 100mph

Fast and Furious star Paul Walker died from the combined effect of severe burns and injuries resulting from the crushing initial impact of the high-speed car crash, the autopsy has revealed.

The driver involved in the crash that killed Walker has been confirmed as Roger Rodas, a former race car driver and financial adviser to Walker. Rodas had been close friends with Walker for several years and the pair had raced together on several occasions.

Both men were pronounced dead at the scene after their vehicle swerved off road, hit a tree and caught fire.

According to authorities, Walker was still alive when the car burst into flames, while Rodas was killed on impact. The victims were apparently so horrifically disfigured that the coroner had to use dental records to identify Walker and Rodas, and to determine which one of them was behind the wheel.

The toxicology report is expected in six to eight weeks.

The police have said the Porsche Carrera GT was travelling at 110mph when it hit a tree and caught fire. Walker, a speed enthusiast, had been issued five speeding tickets in just three years.

He began modelling as an infant in the pampers commercials, shot to fame with the Fast & Furious franchise, starring in all but one of the six action blockbusters.

He was at an event for the Reach out Worldwide charity before he went for a drive with friend Rodas in his Porsche. The accident took place at about 3.30pm local time, just a short distance from the venue of the event.

On his official Twitter account, the 40-year-old Walker, who is survived by his 15-year-old daughter Meadow, had described himself as an "outdoorsman, ocean addict, adrenaline junkie ... and I do some acting on the side."
