Pink's V Festival performance marred by fireworks mishap as wrong stunt sets part of stage on fire
The Just Like Fire hitmaker continued with her performance as staff put out the fire.
It looks like Pink's immensely anticipated performance at the V Festival wasn't off to the great start that fans were looking forward to. Just when the 37-year-old American singer took to the stage for her headline set on Saturday (19 August) night in Essex, a fireworks stunt went wrong setting the top of the stage on fire.
However, the blaze was immediately put out by the cautious staff. According to reports, the Just Like Fire hitmaker bravely continued with her performance.
A source told The Sun: "The fire started when a firework went off and hit the top of the stage. It started off small but then kept growing until a bloke climbed up to the top to put it out. It was really worrying at one point but Pink just kept singing."
Although a disaster was narrowly averted, there seemed to be more concerns for the songstress.
Pink tried to put her best foot forward, continuing with her set, but only to temporarily forget the lyrics of her new release What about Us.
"It takes me four years to learn any song," she quickly admitted following the on-stage gaffe.
While her performance may have been marred by one or the other issues, Pink ensured all eyes were on her while she displayed her chic yet edgy style in a denim-dominated attire. The pop star complemented her ripped pants and baggy jacket with a sexy bustier, finally finishing off with her dramatic blonde hairstyle.
Other stars to headline the event are Ellie Goulding and US rapper Jay-Z.
