Pop Star to Soap Star: Leona Lewis Wants to Join Eastenders Cast
Pop sensation Leona Lewis has revealed that she would love to appear on EastEnders.
The 29-year-old singer, who rose to fame after winning the X Factor in 2006, admitted she was a big fan of the BBC soap and could see herself playing a character on Albert Square.
"I love EastEnders. I don't think I'd do anything where I had to be in it for five years, but maybe a cameo role, if I could sing in the cafe of something," she told the Sun.
The Bleeding Love singer may have contracted the acting bug after starring in the forthcoming holiday musical, Walking on Sunshine, which hits cinemas this summer.
Hackney-born Lewis plays bubbly pal Elena in the feel-good movie and can be seen flexing her vocals in the trailer. Comedian Katy Brand will also be making a cameo in the flick.
"I've always wanted to do acting but it's been really out of my comfort zone - it was such a challenge," she previously told Bang Showbiz.
"I was quite nervous in front of the camera but I think I've grown both as a person and in confidence."
With any luck we could soon bee seeing Lewis in Walford!
