Porn Star Nikki Benz Bids to Replace Rob Ford as Toronto Mayor

Porn star Nikki Benz has launched her bid to replace scandal-ridden Rob Ford as mayor of Canada's largest city.

The adult film star launched her campaign at Toronto's City Hall where she told voters to "trade in your Ford for a Benz".

One of her main election pledges is to bring the porn industry to Toronto in order to generate revenue for North America's fourth-largest city.

"If Rob Ford can do it, I can do it," Benz told the Toronto Sun, referring to the incumbent mayor who is currently in rehab for a crack cocaine addiction.

Last year, the conservative politician admitted that he had smoked crack cocaine during one of his "drunken stupors" following reports that Canadian police retrieved a video allegedly showing him smoking crack.

Ford has continued to reject calls for him to step down as Toronto's mayor despite the series of scandals that has blighted the city's image.

"I have a problem with alcohol, and the choices I have made while under the influence. I have struggled with this for some time," Ford said before entering rehab.

While Benz has a platform and slogan to run on, she does not have the requisite paperwork to register as a mayoral candidate just yet.

Electoral officials have rejected Benz' expired driver's licence as a proof of address when she attempted to register as a candidate in the 27 October election.
