19:30: The Premier League rarely fails to surprise and today is no different. Defeats for the last two Premier League champions Manchester City and Manchester United is the headline news of the day which also saw Tottenham draw with Chelsea and Arsenal beat Swansea. Shall we do it all again tomorrow? Stoke face Norwich and Sunderland host Liverpool. Can't wait.

19:26: Arsenal go back to the top of the Premier League. Goals from Serge Gnabry, his first in the top flight, and Aaron Ramsey, his eighth of the season, secured the win. Ben Davies struck late on but in truth they were never close to staging a late revival. Eight successive away wins for The Gunners and they are two clear of north London rivals Tottenham.

19:22: Free-kick for Swansea in a dangerous position but Szczesny claims it easily. Swansea running out of time.

19:20: Third and final change for Arsenal as Carl Jenkinson comes on for Jack Wilshere.

19:19: Four minutes added on at the Liberty Stadium. Swansea pressing.

19:17: Swansea want a penalty. Sagna's hasty clearance strikes Flamini on the hand I the area but how much the latter knew about it is unsure. Probably the right decision in the end. Another change for Arsenal as Monreal comes on for Ozil.

19:11: Err, change that, Swansea are back in it. Ben Davies exchanges passes with Wilfried Bony and volleys past Szczesny. Hope for Michael Laudrup's side with eight minutes left.

19:09: Entering the last 10 minutes here in south Wales and it seems all done bar the shouting. Arsenal cruising to victory. A matter of how many now it seems.

19:06: Change for Arsenal. Serge Gnabry, fresh from his debut Premier League goal, is replaced by Mikel Arteta

19:05: Well Swansea should be back in it. Bony gets in but shoots from a tight angle with de Guzman waiting for the cross. A bit selfish from the Ivory Coast man.

18:59: Arsenal's wafer thin squad, and subsequent injuries, are being offset by an improvement in almost every player from last season. They've going top of the Premier League at things stand*.

18:58: Few efforts to speak of from Swansea today but there is one from Dyer which Szczesny is forced to claw away. Decent hit.

18:53: As outstanding a team goal as you'll see this season. Wilshere and Giroud are both involved before Aaron Ramsey, the former Wales captain, finds the roof of the net with a brilliant strike. His eighth goal of the season.

18:50: Mesut Ozil should make it two. Swansea look to make amends immediately but are caught on the break, and Arsenal have three on three. Ramsey shifts the ball to Ozil, but Vorm makes an excellent save to deny him.

18:48: Arsenal hit the front and Serge Gnabry scores his first ever Premier League goal. Arsenal work the ball nicely but it's Aaron Ramsey who plays a brilliant reverse pass and finds Gnabry who tucks the ball beyond Vorm.

18:45: Kieran Gibbs wants a penalty after the ball hits the hand of Chico Flores. Mark Clattenburg, much like the Swansea defender, kept his arms by his sides. Correct decision.

18:41: Another good moment for Gnabry, who cuts inside this time from the right, and tests Vorm who is equal to it. Half has begun in similar fashion to the second, both sides creating little.

18:36: Gnabry has come into the game a bit more of late and he forces another Arsenal corner but he delivery from it is very poor and Arsenal concede a foul and the attack fizzles out.

18:34: Underway in the second half. No changes at the Liberty Stadium.

18:22: A half for the football hipster. Plenty of passing and moving but little in the way of substance or end product. The best, and only chance fell the way of Olivier Giroud, who missed the target. Swansea look solid in the absence of Ashley Williams but they haven't threatened much in the final third. Wilfred Bony might get an early introduction.

18:19: Giroud is back up and Arsenal should be a head. Gnabry gets free in the middle and feeds Giroud, who drags the ball across goal. The final chance of the half, and the best one of it.

18:16: Problem for Arsenal. Olivier Giroud is down injured and in plenty of pain. Amat has come down on the Frenchman hard. He is really struggling. We're in stoppage time so he may see it out and get some more treatment during the break.

18:13: Arsenal have lost control somewhat of this game after a good start. Swansea are keeping the ball much better than and hurting them down the right without finding the killer ball to test Szczesny. Just five attempts on goal, none of which have been on target, tells its own story.

17:58: Little to reportfrom the Liberty Stadium thus far. Nice football being played from both sides but little in the way of clear cut openings. Dyer's cross towards the back post is claimed by Szczesny. The Pole is in the some bother after Michu nips the ball away from him but the ball had gone out.

17:45: Arsenal dominating the piece so far. Giroud fails to take the ball in his stride after Ozil through ball before Aaron Ramey takes aim from 30 yards but drills wide.

17:40: Kieran Gibbs is allowed to roam all the way into the Swansea penalty area, cuts the ball back but there is no Arsenal player to be found. Serge Gnabry didn't gamble and the hosts survive.

17:36: Swansea in the ascendancy early on. Shelvy brings the ball down and lashes it goal wards but it's always rising and Szczesny watches it over.

17:32: Underway at the Liberty Stadum and first chance for Swansea, Jose Canas shooting well over from outside the area.

17:29: Swansea face a daunting prospect today. They face an Arsenal side who have won their last seven away games and who have scored in each of their past 14 games in all competitions. The Swans are yet to win a home league game this season. Both sides are out and we're almost ready to go.

17:24: Some quotes emerging from the 3pm kick offs. Manchester United boss David Moyes: "A disappointing performance and a disappointing result. We never really seemed to get up to speed. We didn't defend well and we didn't attack well. It's about how you deal with bad results and move on."

17:05: This day of course marks 17 years since Arsene Wenger was appointed Arsenal manager and he can mark it with returning the club to the Premier league summit. The Gunners are chasing an eighth successive away league win against a Swansea side who have found goals easy to come by at home but are still chasing their first league win on their own patch.

17:00: United make their worst start to a Premier League season after losing three of their opening six games. City, who look formidable in beating United last weekend, are defeated by Villa. All this means that Arsenal, if they can win their fifth game in six at Swansea, will go two points clear of at the top. All the build-up from the Liberty Stadium to come.

16:56: Goodness me. Both Manchester City and Manchester United lose on the same day. Even at this early stage, that's a pair of earth-shattering results in the Premier League.

16:45: United are pressing now as we enter the last five minutes but West Brom are standing up to the champions. Chances have been few and far between since the second Baggies goal.

16:40: We've seen very little of Van Persie since he replaced Hernandez but he gets on the end of Nani's cross but Myhill makes an easy save. At Villa Park, City are somehow not level as Clark blocks two close range shots before Guzan claims.

16:36: Stunning drama in this second half at both Villa Park and Old Trafford. Both Manchester clubs have collapsed against their Midlands opponents. City have dominated for long periods but have been sucker punched while United have been overrun by West Brom at times and trail with less than 15 minutes to go.

16:34: Unbelievable. Villa have turned it around in a matter of moments. A ball downfield puts Andreas Weimann clean through and after Joe Hart storms out of goal he puts the ball into an empty net. Amazing stuff.

16:22: West Brom running riot at Old Trafdford and they should go ahead again when Anichebe holds the ball up on the edge of the box and tees up Sessegnon but the Benin international skys it.

16:18: With Robin van Persie ready to come on, United level it up in fortunate circumstances. Free-kick on the left and Wayne Rooney curls it in, it bounces on the six yard line and beyond Boas Myhill. Van Persie on.

15:53: Half time across the country so let's take a moment to review the first halfs in the Premier League. Yaya Toure has scored his sixth goal of the season to give Manchester City the lead at Aston Villa. Bryan Ruiz has cancelled out Steven Caulker's opener with Fulham and Cardiff City 1-1 at Craven Cottage.

Hull City are ahead against West Ham United thanks to Robbie Brady but Manchester United are being frustrated by a resolute West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford. Finally, Crystal Palace are level with Southampton.

15:48: Fulham level on the brink of the break and Martin Jol has earned his pay packet this week after replacing Kacaniklic with Bryan Ruiz to a chorus of boos at Craven Cottage. Ruiz has popped up with the equaliser, curling into the far corner.

15:45: Yaya Toure might be wondering what he has to do to score. His shot fro 30 yards whizzes past Guzan's left-hand post. From the resulting corner, Toure converts through a crowd of bodies after Villa only half-clear Nasri's corner.

15:35: At the other end, Anderson heads against the cross bar from a United counter-attack. The Brazilian is given offside however, a wrong decision by the assistant referee.

15:34: David Moyes asked for a reaction from Manchester United on their Premier League return after last weekend's derby defeat but West Brom are having the better of it after the opening 30 minutes. Substitute Berahino should put them ahead but heads wide.

15:30: At St Mary's, Marouane Chamakh is booked somewhat controversially for diving when put clean through.

15:29: Olsson back on for the Baggies, who are back to their full compliment at the champions.

15:26: Martin Olsson has a blood injury and has to go off to receive treatment. While down to ten men Phil Jones gets to the byline but his cross goes behind.

15:16: Two goals within minutes of each other in the Premier League. Steven Caulker gives Cardiff the lead at Craven Cottage with a flying header and at the KC Stadium Robbie Brady puts Hull ahead from the penalty spot.

14:51: Well that wasn't a bad way to start the day was it? Lets turn our attention to the 3pm kick offs then. Just 10 minutes until kick-off across the country. 14:38: Well when a game ends and both sides felt they could have won it, you know you've seen a good one. Tottenham started brightly, opening the scoring through Sigurdsson and should have put the game out of sight. Chelsea rallied and were level through John Terry's header and will be wondering what if after Lloris denied Schurrle. Fernando Torres' red card is the main talking point though and probably denied the visitors all three points. Good one all in and all and Tottenham, for a few hours at least, are top of the Premier League.

14:34: Another chance for Tottenham as we approach stoppage time. Defoe again the protagonist of it but his shot is deflected wide. Four minutes added on.

14:31: Almost the winner for Spurs. Sigurdsson tees himself up 20 yards out and volleys towards goal but misses the target. Cracking effort.

14:29: Dembele tricks his way through Ramires and finds Defoe but his shot is kept out by Cech. Juan Mata is now leading the Chelsea attack as Spurs press for a winner.

14:28: Well that once again changes the complexion of the game. Chelsea, who have brought on Azpilicueta, will look to sit in for the remaining 10 minutes or so. Tottenham on the front foot.

14:26: Torres and Vertonghen have both come together in an aerial challenge. Mike Dean takes his time and sends off Fernando Torres. Replays suggests that Torres only had eyes for the ball. Vertonghen escapes without punishment. Very harsh but perhaps, justice eventually done.

14:21: Chelsea should be ahead. Again Torres is at the centre of all things good for the visitors and his threaded ball finds Schurrle but Lloris makes a vital save. The Blues now have an attacking free-kick. Spurs disintegrating.

14:20: Torres has been hugely impressive I this second half, Spurs haven't got near him and Dawson is booked for a cynical foul and Chelsea have a dangerous looking free-kick. Mata's free-kick finds Ivanovic but the Serbian is adjudged to be offside.

14:13: Well, a quarter of the game remaining and the momentum is with Chelsea. Tottenham haven't shown much authority in this game since mid-way through the first half. Another change for Chelsea, Andre Schurle on for Hazard, who has been ineffectual throughout. Lewis Holtby comes on for Christian Eriksen.

14:10: Juan Mata's free-kick catches out the Tottenham defence and John Terry steals in and unmarked nods past Lloris. His first goal of the season and Chelsea's improvement is rewarded with a leveller. Tottenham might be regretting the first half's wasted chances.

14:08: Jan Vertonghen booked for a foul on Ramires who was flying down the middle after exchanging passes with Mata, who has looked sublime.

14:06: Townsend, who has had a quiet second half thus far, replaces Nacer Chadli. 28 minutes left.

14:05: Another delay in play as Dean is forced to intervene after Vertonghen pushes Torres.

Really finely poised this game and Chelsea are totally dominant now since the introduction of Mata. Hazard curls on towards the far corner and Lloris saves. Tottenham will make a change with Nacer Chadli being prepped.

14:02: Ball in the net for Chelsea but the flag has gone up. Mata, who puts the ball in, is offside after Torres wins the ball following a long ball forward. Correct decision according to the replay. Mike Dean books Ivanovic for dissent it seems and has words with captain John Terry as emotions boil over.

13:59: Another look at that coming together between Torres and Vertonghen earlier in the second half. The Spaniard takes a real chunk out of his Belgian counterpart. On BT Sport, former referee Mark Halsey says Mike Dean should have sent the striker off. Not sure the official got a great view of it to be honest.

13:57: Remember the old Fernando Torres? Well we saw shades of him there. He picks the ball up inside the Spurs half and runs at the heart of the defence. He leaves Dawson on the seat of his pants but Lloris denies him. Thrilling stuff.

13:55: Booking for Torres after he needlessly clips Vertonghen. The Belgian had a bit of a go at Torres in the aftermath also. Bit feisty out there now.

13:52: Chance for Chelsea inside the first three minutes. Torres' low cross is towards the back post where Oscar can only get a toe-end onto the ball. The Brazilian can't find the target.

13:50: Assistant boss Steve Holland was impressed by Mata's performance in the League Cup against Swindon in mid-week. He must have been watching a different game to me as the Spaniard looked very ring rusty. His omission from the first team has affected his early season form, and his early season for has affected his place in the team. Vicious circle which Mata can halt today.

13:48: Juan Mata coming on for Chelsea at half time. Halleluiah . John obi Mikel comes off. Second half underway.

13:46: Been so impressed by Andros Townsend's performance this afternoon that you wonder why Spurs spent what they did on Erik Lamela. His link up play with Kyle Walker and Paulinho has been excellent. An example of how a loan move can benefit a player after he impressd at Queens Park Rangers last season. Imagine if Spurs had had him available last season.....

13:39: The only regret as far as Spurs will be concerned is that they're not further ahead. Ivanovic cleared from Townsend's cross and Paulinho hit the post in the twilight of the first half. Chelsea haven't carved out any clear-cut chances but the do have a threat of sorts while their bench, which includes Juan Mata, boast a number of game-changing players.

13:34: Tottenham deservedly lead this exhilarating London derby through Gylfi Sigurdsson. Chelsea have come back into it somewhat at the game has progressed by Spurs possess an underlining threat with Eriksen and Paulinho a particular threat. Decent first half.

13:31: Spurs should be two up. Paulinho controls Walker's pass but can only hit the outside of the post. Two added on minutes at the Lane.

13:29: First yellow card two minutes before the break. Andros Townsend booked for diving. Another opportunity for Chelsea from the free-kick, Oscar winding up a volley after Torres challenges Dawson but it's straight at Lloris.

13:26: First genuine chance for the visitors. Hazard pickpockets Walker, delays his shot before his effort is deflected behind off fellow-countryman Jan Vertonghen.

13:25: Lloris comes a long way to punch a Lampard free-kick. Chelsea recycle the ball and Ivanovic wins a corner but Soldado gets the ball away. First we've seen of Chelsea as an attacking threat this little spell.

13:23: A cross, this time from the left, goes straight into the arms of Lloris from Ashley Cole. Mike Dean notably letting a lot go early on here. Fancy the first yellow card might spark a flurry somewhat.

13:22: Well if you want a signal that things are not all well in the Chelsea camp at this moment, Branislav Ivanovic has been penalised for a foul throw.

13:21: Chelsea exerting a little bit of control now but they're up against a Tottenham defence which has only conceded five times this term, the best of the top five divisions in Europe. A corner from Lampard evades Terry at the back post.

13:18: Ivanovic gets to the by-line and cross but Vertonghen hooks clear. Luiz then needlessly fouls Soldado on the half-way line.

13:15: Cech forced to keep out a weak effort from Naughton. It's all happening for Spurs at the moment. Andre Villas-Boas will be keen his side take advantage of their dominance.

13:12: Mousa Dembele down after a rough challenge from Frank Lampard. Tottenham are all over Chelsea in the early stages here and look like scoring a second in this mood. Chelsea look disorganised at the back and blunt going forward.

13:10: Branislav Ivanovic prevents Tottenham doubling their lead. Townsend plays the ball across the face of goal and the Serbian puts the ball over his own bar with Paulinho looking to put into the empty net. Crucial clearance.

13:08: A bone of contention from Chelsea after in the lead up to the goal, Fernando Torres wasn't given a free-kick after an apparent trip by Kyle Walker. The Spaniard clapped the officials' decision sarcastically.

13:07: Tottenham hit the front after 19 minutes and it's a picturebook goal from Gylfi Sigurdsson. Eriksen gets away from Mikel and his left-footed ball across the 18-yard area finds Soldado whose lay off is inch perfect into the path of the onrushing Sigurdsson, who slotted past Cech. Lovely goal.

13:04: There is another game going on this lunchtime and it's at the City Ground where Nottingham Forest have taken the lead over Derby County in pursuit of East Midlands supremacy. Jack Hobbs with the first half header.

13:01: Evidence of the handshake between former colleagues.

12:59: Chelsea on the break almost manufactured a chance of their own as Torres broke down the right and his cross wasn't cleared by Paulinho and his fellow Brazilian Ramires just couldn't bring it down before Tottenham clear.

12:58: Half-chance for Spurs. Eriksen's subsequent free-kick is flighted and Vertonghen gets there first but can only direct the header wide.

12:56: Free-kick for Tottenham. Sigurdsson pulled back by Ivanovic. Chance to load the box.

12:55: Lampard tries a similar effort after Torres lays the ball on, but his left footed effort is high over the bar. Neither side really dictating as yet. Hazard getting treatment after what looks like a nasty challenge. Achilles in pain after Townsend came down on him after a high challenge. No malice.

12:53: The Chelsea supporters are housed in the corner behind the dugouts and Paulinho finds them with an effort which won't trouble the highlights packages this evening. Tottenham a bit nervy early on.

12:51: Little to report in the early stages in north London. Eriksen plays a threaded pass towards Soldado but the Spaniard can't control it and Cech comes out. Lampard tries a through ball towards Hazard but he also can latch onto it.

12:48: Naughton v Hazard is the battle to watch for me this afternoon. Naughton is into the action early on, feeding Eriksen down the left and the Dane wins a corner. Cech claims his subsequent set-piece though. Subdued start.

12:45: A downplayed handshake, but a handshake nonetheless between AVB and Mourinho. We're underway at White Hart Lane.

12:43: Little doubt that this game represents a genuine litmus test for both side's title aspirations. AVB's Tottenham have won seven out of eight this season while Mourinho's Chelsea have yet to convince but are expected to be there or there abouts by May. Both players are out on the pitch. Within five minutes of kick-off.

12:39: I am reliably told that if you were to place a bet on those exact results, you would get odds of 69,000,000/1. Worth a quid isn't it? Not that I'm condoning gambling. Players on their way in a moment or two.

12:33: This is of course one of seven games on this Saturday, and unless your like me and have forgot to do your fantasy football transfer for a third successive weekend, then you've got a pretty good idea how these games will go. Here are my predictions:

12:30: These two played out an outstanding encounter in the Premier League at White Hart Lane last season. On that day, Juan Mata stared with an assist and two goals as Chelsea prevailed 4-2 but this fixture has the capacity to three. Remember a 4-4 a few years ago with a late Robbie Keane goal? Much to look forward to this lunchtime.

12:24: Interesting to see Franco Baldini taking a place next to Andre Villas-Boas, pitch side as both sets of players warm-up ahead of the 12:45 kick-off. To some, that might be a display of how close the two individuals work, to others a submissive example of the power Baldini has and the grip the boardroom wants to have on playing operations. Interesting either way.

12:22: The whole week has been dominated by the documentation of the relationship between today's two managers; Villas-Boas and Mourinho. Is there any love lost? Do they like each other? Will there be a handshake? Who cares?

12:19: Bit of context behind those two teams. Aaron Lennon misses out after failing a late fitness text, with Andros Townsend starting from the right instead. There is no Danny Rose so Kyle Naughton begins at full-back.

For Chelsea, Fernando Torres makes his first Premier League start since the opening weekend. Juan Mata in on the bench as Oscar, Hazard and Ramires, who has recovered from a thigh problem, start behind Torres. David Luiz partners John Terry at centre back.

12:00: The Apprentice v The Master kicks off this glittering weekend of Premier League football as Andre Villas-Boas and Jose Mourinho meet for the first time as Tottenham Hotspur host Chelsea. AVB was in Mourinho's backroom team during his spells at FC Porto, Chelsea and Inter Milan but is now carving out his own career with one of Chelsea's biggest rivals. Two of the main protagonists for the Premier League title go head-to-head in the lunchtime kick-off. Not one to miss.
