Project Ryptide: The drone that could save you from drowning
An accessory that allows a drone to carry a life ring and deploy it out at sea to those in peril, has been designed by a private school in Connecticut, United States.
Desgined by Bill Piedra and five students from King Low Heywood Thomas school, Project Ryptide is an accessory system that can be carried by any drone that is is capable of taking a GoPro camera or gimbal on-board. The accessory is a inflatable life ring that can be flown out and released at sea in order to keep people afloat.
Currently the prototype version is undergoing testing and development stage. Project Ryptide is set to make its debut on crowd-funding website Kickstarter in the upcoming year to raise funds.
