Overview

The king of Roland Garros Nadal is set to play his first match after his exit at the quarter-finals last year. It was his first loss since 2010 and he will be keen to reclaim his title and make it 10 French Open titles. The Spaniard has recaptured some of his form following a difficult 2015 campaign and has won two titles this season with both coming on clay.

Groth, meanwhile, has had a difficult campaign, with his best result being the third round in an ATP Challenger Event. The Australian has had a terrible season coming into the Grand Slam and will find it difficult against Nadal, despite the nine-time Roland Garros winner not being in his best form.
