Razzies 2013: Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 2 Wins Seven, With Worst Actress for Kristen Stewart

The final instalment of the popular vampire-themed fantasy film series - the Twilight saga - was a runaway winner at the 33rd annual Golden Raspberry Awards, which selects the worst films of the year.

The film, which earned 11 nominations in ten categories, dominated the Razzies with seven awards, including Worst Actress for Kristen Stewart (The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II and Snow White and the Huntsman), Worst Supporting Actor for Taylor Lautner (for Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II), Worst Director for Bill Condon (for Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part II) and Worst on-Screen Couple for Lautner and co-star Mackenzie Foy. The film also won Worst Screen Ensemble and Worst Remake, Rip-off or Sequel.

"I have a pet theory, which is that the box office on Twilight films is very impressive, but my theory is that instead of 40 million individual girls going to see it, it's eight million girls going to see it five times each," Razzies founder John Wilson said, "People who love those movies just adore them. I believe the attitude of people who really love Twilight movies toward this subject is very similar to the pomposity with which the Academy Awards addresses the whole rest of the world."

"Our whole existence is all about making fun of pompous, so Twilight really is right up our alley," he added.

Adam Sandler, who set a record by winning ten awards for his work in Jack and Jill last year, was named Worst Actor for That's My Boy. The film, which flopped at the box office, also won Worst Screenplay. Pop star Rihanna won Worst Supporting Actress for Battleship.

The ceremony, which is held on the eve of the Oscars, took place at The Continental Breakfast Room of the Holiday Inn Express Hollywood Walk of Fame hotel.

The nominees and winners were chosen by 657 members of the Golden Raspberry Foundation and 70,000 ballots on movie review website Rotten Tomatoes.

The gold spray-painted award, which is the shape of a "golfball-sized raspberry", is placed above a Super 8mm film reel; each award costs $4.97(approximately £3). The first Razzie awards ceremony was held on 31 March 1981, in Wilson's living room in Los Angeles.
