Robert Kirkman keen to introduce the Whisperers in The Walking Dead
The seventh season of the AMC zombie series will premiere on 23 October.
Fans are eagerly waiting for the premiere of The Walking Dead season 7 which will mark the end of the journey of at least one popular character. In the season 6 finale, Negan's brutality certainly made him look like the deadliest villain in the post-apocalyptic world.
But according to the show and comic book creator Robert Kirkman there is another deadly gang other than the Savior that takes pleasure in killing fellow survivors. Meet the Whisperers who enter TWD comic book long after Rick Grimes and Negan's encounter. The two leaders eventually settle their dispute and everyone lives in harmony for the next two years.
However, with the entry of the gruesome group who literally wear the skin of the walkers and act like one until they find a human prey, Rick, Negan and Ezekiel's existence will be threatened. Kirkman, who attended the New York Comic-Con this week, said he is keen to introduce the notorious group in the AMC blockbuster series if the network continues with it.
"Probably, eventuall... As long as we don't get cancelled it should. I can't wait to see Andrew Lincoln saying 'Now we gotta worry about the Whisperers'...I think about some dark stuff," he said during the Comic Con (via ComicBook).
The show is known for its bloody theme, but the Whisperers will take the brutality to another level as they take pleasure from hiding under the rotting skin of zombies.
The show at present is focused on Negan as he seeks revenge from Rick and his group as they had killed a few of his members. He is on a killing spree, which could continue in the seventh season, hence it remains to be seen how the next set of villains will be introduced on the show.
The seventh season of the AMC zombie thriller will premiere on 23 October.
