British fashion designer, dressmaker and milliner Angela Kelly provides rare insight into the queen's wardrobe.
Queen Elizabeth II is known for her bold and vivid sense of fashion that makes her stand out even at the age of 93. She is a vision to behold even in the most striking combination of bright neon accessories and vibrant-coloured skirts. The person behind her wardrobe is none other than Angela Kelly, a British fashion designer and dressmaker.
Angela Kelly is spills some royal secrets about Queen Elizabeth's wardrobe. The nonagenarian royal's dresser and confidante is soon releasing a tell-all book wherein she reveals the style secrets of some of the iconic royal looks of the queen. According to The Sun, the book titled "The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, the Dresser, and the Wardrobe," will be released by Harper Collins publishing house on Tuesday, October 29.
The tell-all will reportedly shed light on 25 years of Kelly's hard work curating the qeen's iconic looks. More than two decades of being associated with Kelly, the senior royal, and the 51-year-old designer certainly share a unique bond which is why a lot of interesting stories are expected to be revealed.
Whether it's a formal occasion or just a casual day, Kelly's priority is to "serve and support" the queen always. As per the report, fans of the queen and readers can expect to learn stories from behind-the-wardrobe of the queen, and see never-before-seen pictures from Kelly's personal collection. The followers of the monarch are certainly going to get a rare insight into her wardrobe.
"Sharing never-before-seen photographs – many from Angela's own private collection – and charming anecdotes of their time spent together, this revealing book provides memorable insights into what it's like to work closely with The Queen, to curate her wardrobe and to discover a true and lasting connection along the way," a royal spokesperson told the aforementioned publication.
It is said that Kelly has been a serving member of the Royal Household since 1994 and she is the only person in British history to hold a unique title of personal advisor and curator and in-house designer. Not only that, she is the first serving member who has been granted permission to publish a tell-all.
"This book documents the unique working relationship between Her Majesty The Queen and the woman who has been her Personal Advisor and Senior Dresser for more than two decades: Angela Kelly. It gives a rare glimpse into the demands of the job of supporting the Monarch, and we gain a privileged insight into a successful working relationship," said Samantha Cohen CVO, assistant private secretary to the queen as quoted by Hello.
