Samsung bringing sliding seats to Twickenham Stadium for 2016 Rugby Sevens
Samsung is offering rugby fans the change to bag a seat at May's London Sevens event at Twickenham Stadium, although this particular perch comes with a difference. Winners of the competition will get a place on Samsung's Slider bench, which will zip around the sidelines at 20mph to give fans the best possible view of the action.
The Slider is a typically outlandish creation by Samsung that's part train, part chair. The bench sits on an 80-metre track at the fringes of the pitch and moves up and down the touchline with the players. It's already seen action in Australia, where it was installed for a rugby match against the All Blacks back in 2014.
The bench is being installed at Twickenham Stadium for the season finale of 2016's HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series, which will be held on 21 and 22 May. Samsung is offering 15 pairs of tickets – each winner will receive a ticket for them and a friend, which will get them a seat on the Slider for one of the 45 matches being held over the course of the weekend.
The competition is open until 14 May to anyone who has purchased a Samsung TV, speaker or sound bar in 2016 and registered it with the company. You can enter the competition via this online form.
