New details about the launch schedule of Samsung's fourth generation Galaxy Note have surfaced online.

It had been rumoured that Samsung would announce the Galaxy Note 4 at the IFA 2014 trade show, scheduled to be held from 5-10 September in Berlin, Germany. Nevertheless, there was no information on the exact date of the announcement.

However, Android Geek, after obtaining information from an insider, claims that Samsung has scheduled the launch event for the Galaxy Note 4 on 3 September. According to the leakster, the South Korean tech major will send out invitations for an 'Unpacked event' in the middle of August.

This is the same insider who had earlier revealed that the Galaxy Note 3 would be introduced on 4 September, just before the IFA 2013 event. He had revealed that Samsung would hold a special Unpacked press event to announce the Galaxy Note 3 on the first day of the IFA 2013 event. Surprisingly, the information turned out to be true and Galaxy Note 3 was indeed announced on the said date.

Considering Samsung's practice to unveil its new Note around the same time Apple debuts its latest iPhone iteration, it will not be a surprise if Samsung launches the Galaxy Note 4 in September.

The next iPhone, commonly known as iPhone 6, is expected to be released sometime in late August or early September, the same timeframe rumoured for the Galaxy Note 4 roll out.

In terms of hardware arrangements, the Galaxy Note 4 with model number N910x, will reportedly sport a 5.7in Quad HD screen with resolution at 2560 x 1440 pixels, and pixel density at 515 pixels per inch (ppi).

The new Note will feature a screen size similar to that of the current Galaxy Note 3.

Among other notable features are a 3GB RAM, Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor and 16 megapixel ISOCELL camera sensor. The device is also expected to have Pen input technology along with Galaxy S5's fingerprint scanning feature and heart rate monitor.
