Samsung's Galaxy S3 Faces Motorola’s Photon 4G

The new Samsung Galaxy S3 appears to be an amazing smartphone with a large screen, powerful processor and an eight megapixels rear-facing camera. The device features Smart Stay, Direct Call, Smart Alert, Social Tag and S Voice. Samsung's S Voice could be a challenging factor for Apple's Siri.
The Motorola Photon 4G is a power-packed smartphone which features a qHD touchscreen display and a multimedia kickstand that provides hands-free video calling and streaming of movies offering a better view experience. According to Android Authority, the official CyanogenMod 7 is available for Photon 4G.

Display
The Galaxy S3 comes with a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The 4.8in screen comes with a Corning Gorilla Glass 2 and TouchWiz 4.0 UI. The new Corning Gorilla Glass 2 is a scratch-resistant which offers 20 per cent reduction in terms of thickness.
In comparison, the Motorola Photon 4G touts a TFT capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 960 x 540 pixels. It has 4.3in screen which is slightly smaller than Galaxy S3, and it includes Corning Gorilla Glass.
Processor
The Galaxy S3 is powered by a 1.4GHz Cortex-A9 quad-core CPU and Exynos 4212 quad chipset. It includes Mali 400MP GPU.
In contrast, the Photon 4G is powered by a 1GH Cortex-A9 dual-core CPU, Nvidia Tegra 2 AP20H and ULP GeForce GPU.
Camera
Both smartphones have an eight megapixel rear-facing camera with auto-focus, LED flash, geo-tagging, face detection and image stabilisation.
The Galaxy S3 offers support to video recording of 1080p and a front-facing camera of 1.9 megapixels.
The Photon 4G allows the user to record video of 720p as well as secondary VGA camera.
Operating System
The Galaxy S3 runs on Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
The Photon 4G runs on Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform.
Storage
The Galaxy S3 offers variants of internal storage - 16/32/64GB and 1GB RAM. It contains a microSD card slot with an additional memory of 64GB.
In comparison, the Photon 4G has a 16GB of internal storage and 1GB RAM. It comprises a microSD card which is expandable up to 32GB.
Connectivity
The Galaxy S3 features Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n with Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA and Wi-Fi hotspot. It offers support to Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and EDR.
On the other hand, the Photon 4G includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n with DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot. It supports Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP and EDR wireless technology.
Battery
The Samsung smartphone comes with a Li-Ion 2100mAh standard battery.
Tthe Motorola smartphone packs Li-Ion 1700mAh standard battery which allows for standby time of up to 288 hours on 2G and 312 hours on 3G networks. It allows for talk time up to 10 hours 40 minutes on 2G and nine hours 10 minutes on 3G networks.
