Samsung Galaxy S3 VS ZTE Era: Which Quad-Core Android Smartphone is Your Choice?
Running the latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform the ZTE Era is the most powerful Android smartphone claims ZTE.
The ZTE Era, its Chinese creators claim, is one of the world's thinnest smartphones and certainly the slimmest unveiled at the 2012 Mobile World Congress (MWC). The device is powered by the NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor. The ZTE Era will be launched in Europe and China in the second quarter of this year, according to the company.

Display
The forthcoming ZTE Era will feature a 4.3in QHD screen reportedly at a resolution of 540 x 960 pixels and a pixel density of 256 pixels per inch (ppi).
The Galaxy S3 features a Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 2. The display has Samsung's TouchWiz User Interface v4.0 and the resolution of the display is 720 x 1280 pixels with a density of 306 ppi.
Dimensions
The ERA, the company claims, be no more than 7.88mm thick. The Galaxy S3 measures 136.6 x 70.6 x 8.6mm and weighs 133g.
Operating System
Both phones will run Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) although the Galaxy S3 will have an updated version - Android 4.0.4.
Processor
The Era will be equipped with an Nvidia Tegra 3 quad-core 1.3GHz mobile processor. The Galaxy S3 is powered by the Exynos 4 quad-core processor, which was clocked at 1.4GHz. Both smartphones house 1GB of RAM.
Camera
The ZTE Era will sport an eight megapixel primary camera featuring auto-focus, LED flash and geo-tagging. The camera can record video in 1080p at 30 frames per second (fps). The smartphone will also feature a secondary camera of VGA quality.
The Galaxy S3 is equipped with a rear camera of eight megapixels with auto-focus, LED flash and other features such as simultaneous HD video and image recording, geo-tagging, touch-focus, face and smile detection and image stabilisation. The camera can record video in 1080p at 30 fps. The S3 packs a front-facing camera of 1.9 megapixels, which can record video in 720p at 30 fps.
Connectivity
The ZTE Era will support Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, UMA, Wi-Fi hotspot and Bluetooth version 3.0 with A2DP and EDR. It will connect to data speed up to HSDPA 21Mbps and HSUPA 5.76Mbps.
The Galaxy S3 offers Wi-Fi a/b/g/n, Wi-Fi HT40, NFC and Bluetooth v4.0. It supports data speeds up to HSDPA 21Mbps and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps and can connect to 4G networks.
Storage
The ZTE Era will offer 8GB of storage space and support for microSD cards with an additional storage of 32GB. The Galaxy S3 has two models - 16/32GB, with a 64GB model expected soon. The smartphone also supports microSD cards.
Battery
There is not much information on the battery capacity of the ZTE Era but we believe it will be powered by a standard Li-ion battery. The Galaxy S3 has a 2100mAh battery.
