Scottish Independence Results: Why the Yes Campaign was Hugely Successful Despite Losing Referendum
Scots may have rejected independence but the Yes campaign has taught Westminster that it can't be complacent when to comes to the electorate being hungry for change.
Some 55% voted against breaking the 307-year old union with England but the margin it won by wasn't as massive as Westminster had forecasted at the beginning of the referendum process.
While the Better Together campaign was criticised as lackadaisical and virtually incognito around the country's major cities, Yes Scotland was instrumental in stirring up the hearts and minds of voters on both sides of the fence.
While the Yes vote may have not won the battle for independence, it is certainly on track to win the war for more powers and control for the devolved government.
