Selena Gomez Headed Nepal to 'Escape' From American Media and Get 'Mental Peace'
Selena Gomez reportedly went Nepal, South Asia, in search of "mental peace" and get away from the American media.
The 21-year-old Come and Get It singer was on a charity mission as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
Selena reportedly told local famed journalist Bisnu Sharma, why she was in the country.
"I am in Nepal to escape from the American media. I wanted mental peace," Gomez said.
The former Disney star took to her Instagram account to share a picture of herself in a sari. She captioned the caption image: "Sari, not sari".
Meanwhile, during her time in Nepal, Gomez travelled to the district of Dang, to experience their lifestyle and become part of their local community.
Adding on, Gomez visited a local school and apparently distributed music instruments too.
Previously it was reported that Gomez has turned to religion to help her with depression and to avoid rehab.
In December 2013, Gomez had cancelled her tour of Asia and Australia to promote her recent album Stars Dance, stating personal reasons, and on 5 January it was reported that the Come and Get It singer was admitted at The Meadows treatment centre in Wickenburg, Arizona.
