Shah Rukh Khan's Fan: Bollywood superstar says he has not given his 100% to the role
Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan recently released the title track of his upcoming movie Fan and his real-life fans can't seem to get enough of it. The song features a very different side to SRK — more quirky, more outrageous and a lot more wacky than ever before.
Talking about the song during an interaction with the media, Khan — who enjoys tremendous global popularity — shared that playing the role of a regular "fan" called Gaurav in the film was not easy. "But [director] Maneesh (Sharma) was clear as to how Gaurav was going to be," he stated. (via Times Of India)
Talking more about his director Sharma's contribution to the role, SRK added: "I had superficial understanding of what being a fan means but Maneesh knew the intensity and depth of it. So, I just followed his instructions. I know I haven't given my 100% to it as it was really tough."
In an earlier interview, Khan himself indicated that Fan is more of a novel subject and quite unlike his regular blockbuster masala films like Dilwale and Happy New Year. "If you're looking for novelty, then you should watch out for Fan," said SRK. "It's a different kind of film, meant to be a niche... not a blockbuster."
Whether the audience appreciates Khan's stint as an obsessed fan or not will only be known when the film hits theatres on 15 April.
